Meet Margie

Margie is an urban designer and architect with over 5 years of experience with projects of various scales around Europe. She has been part of international teams from early on and has experience from concept design and large-scale architectural competitions to complicated project management in construction phase. She has worked in internationally acknowledged architectural offices in Greece and Spain and her work has been nominated for multiple awards. From 2019 she has been part of AT Arkitektur, working on large scale projects throughout Northern Norway.

She holds a MArch in Urban Design from The Bartlett School of Architecture as well as Dipl.-Ing. for Architecture from National Technical University of Athens, graduating with distinction and multiple awards for innovation and design from both universities. From 2021, she holds the position of Skills and Design Tutor as part of the cluster RC14 "Machine Thinking Urbanism: Cities Beyond Recognition" at The Bartlett. Her field of research includes urban design, computational methodologies, machine learning and space syntax with a focus on the hybrid ontology of urban space. She is also part of the teaching group of introductory seminars on programming and machine learning for the Urban Design Master course.

During her career, she has collected experience in different project typologies from schools, housing, offices, restaurants and rehabilitation to large public sector projects. Her experience makes her an ideal collaborator in interdisciplinary teams and complicated processes. As an urban designer, she has been part of neighborhood scale development projects in Tromsø, the strategic plan for the development of the space industry in Andøya as well as Ageing in the Arctic research project.
