Age-friendly communities in a winter climate

(2026)

In collaboration with Lo:Le landskap og plan and UiT, Fabric+ developed an age-friendly guide for Båtsfjord and Tana in Finnmark, focusing on climate, quality of life, and health, commissioned by the Norwegian State Housing Bank (Husbanken).

Information

In collaboration with Lo:Le Landscape and Planning, we are conducting an analysis of age-friendliness in Båtsfjord and Tana. The project encompasses a multidisciplinary assessment of both climatic conditions — such as wind, snow, precipitation, and geographical prerequisites — and human needs, including health, services, and administration.

Fabric+ has been responsible for resident involvement and analysis of insights related to age-friendliness. This has included, among other things, workshops with approximately 50 seniors in Båtsfjord and Tana, as well as interviews with representatives from the municipal sector and voluntary organizations.

The work is still ongoing.
